thank you, wanted be sure I was using a reliable platform, no one better than a licensee to confirm. 👍 A lot of information to process, but I guess I will just have spend some time. I am a novice to all. should I take it step by step, with Technician first or should I shoot for Amateur Extra in one shot. Just not sure how involved the exam really is! ---

Thanks! I’m glad youre getting into this great world of Ham Radio. You should go step by step. Focus on the Technician first, after that study for General and then Extra. I was 14 years old (1996)when I got my Technician licence. I had to battle with a language barrier since my first language is Spanish and the testings were in English. But that did not stop me from getting it. I’m sure you will have yours soon if you work for it 🙂 ---

Good advice WP3C. Walk b4 u run. Study for tech and once u get to passing that test in the 80-85% range, your ready for Technician test. When you pass that test they should offer you to take the General right then. Try it and see how it goes. Either way, its fun. ---

I’m also using Ham Radio Prep. I passed the Technician exam exam a little over a week ago. I think it is a good course. ---

For the Technician Exam I used Ham Radio Prep on my phone, and a study book from ARRL. For my General Exam I used an audio study book, and the printed copy along with access to practice exams. Michael Burnette. His study system has been the best I have found. I also used his material for the Extra exam. I would recommend him, his material for whatever exam you are going to take. Ham Radio Prep is what I recommend. Ensure you’re passing 90% on average for each quiz and the practice test and you’re golden. Don’t psych yourself out, the questions in the exam are the same as the Ham Radio Prep study material so you will recognize them instantly. Knock out a few sections a night and in a week or two you will be done. I registered for an online exam via ARRL website. $10 fee, easy breezy because the questions are again the exact same questions as in the Ham Radio Prep material. Ham Radio Prep - $79 gets you a fast track all the way to amateur extra. They do a great job of only showing you the right/required answers and nothing else. 73, Andrew **KO6CZD** ---
