Desktop installation on Linux (PiOS) fails

I have downloaded the .deb file and attempted to install it. The install faailsm with the message A package could not be found that allows the action to complete. More information is available in the detailed report. I cannot find the detailed report. Any help is appreciatyed…thanks.

@KK7UIV Hey Walt

If you are using a raspberrypi the linux images wont work. Pi’s use arm64 and not a regular intel chipset. We dont have a arm64 build as im not sure how stable or if it would even run on pi hardware.

You normally would just open a terminal and type:

sudo dpkg -i package_name.deb

Thanks, Brad. I figured that might be the case. If you would like someone to help you make it work on the Pi 400 and/or 500, I’d be more than happy to help. I have many years experience with Linux and Pi’s so should be able to beta test for that platform. Please let me know what you think.

I would love to be able to run this on my Raspberry Pi 5 as well!

@W5NAK @KK7UIV We’ll get an arm build released but i cannot guarantee that it will run properly (without extreme lag, even on a pi5).
