I have excellent results with WRL cat control and my IC-705 and decided to try it with my Elecraft KX2 that is connected to my Elecraft KXPA100 amplifier.
No matter what I try I cant get it to be reliable. After initial connection if I try change VFO it takes like 15 seconds if at all to catch up and sync current frequency. Another example is if I go to spotting and double click on a station to automatically change over to it there is anywhere from a 12-15sec lag before it does if it even works at all.
The KX2 as well KXPA100 amplifier have baud rate of 38400, device usb port is set to 38400 as well and also WRL cat baud rate the same.
I also tried taking the amplifier out of the equation and only use the KX2 transiever but the same issues occur.
Anyone ran into this issue of have solution as I really enjoy how well it works on my IC-705.

I have the same issue and reported it in May, but I haven’t heard anything other than that they are working on it for the KX2. I am sure they are busy with all the different radios.
What was the fix? This is one of my main POTA radios.

Details: I have an Elecraft KX2. I am trying to use the new CAT control for the desktop app on a Microsoft computer running Windows 11. Device Manager shows the KX2 on port 6, and I have selected that for the CAT control. However, when I connect, the CAT control auto-switches to port 4 when I select “Connect” in the app. I have confirmed the baud rates are good, and it works flawlessly with WSJT.
Any suggestions?

Yep, I have Desktop Beta v0.1.8, and it lags to the point of being unusable. Tried WRL Cat Control 1.1.3 and then tried to sync with the web logbook; better results. Takes between 5 and 20 seconds for the radio to sync to a new frequency. Sometimes more, depending on the spotting app syncing.
The irony is that another vendor that rhymes with Sam Radio Deluxe is almost instantaneous. LOL. Committed to WRL, but the only radio that is a bit slow is the KX2. All my others are flawless with your apps. The settings work, but it’s slow. I may just be expecting too much from an older radio.
