Etiquette for calling stations activating on same freq (who can’t hear each other)

Now that I’m on HF, I frequently hear two stations on a freq (or very nearly on the same) calling. I think it’s called doubling; is that right?

It’s obvious they can’t hear each other, but it’s possible-likely they would both hear me. Seems awkward to make one hear my QSL of the other…

What if one is a net? Or a ragchew?

Am I clear to call both/either? I’ve just avoided those and spun for another, but am I being overly cautious?

What’s the standard etiquette here?

I don’t know what the accepted protocol is but I reach out to the one that I can hear the best and let them know there’s another op on the same freq. It’s up to them to determine if they should move or just stay where they are.

If it’s two POTA stations, I’ll advise as to which op has been spotted the longest on the frequency.
