Getting .CSV file from POTA Site into WRL

I just upgraded from a free to a premium membership as I plan on using WRL software as my main POTA app. I have a slew of contacts in the POTA app and I can export them as a .csv but can’t upload them into WRL. I’m using a MacBook Air M1 or an iPad Air. Is there a way to convert them from .CSV to .ADIF

You can download an app called ADIF master that can convert a CSV to an ADIF.

Except that’s for Windows, which I don’t use. I’m a Mac and Linux user.

@N4WSH Correct, adif master is only on windows. I’ve been looking for an alternative for linux but haven’t found one so far. There should be some tools online that will convert a CSV to a an ADIF though. Might just have to do some googling

OK, I did a conversion from CSV to ADIF and uploaded the file. I see where it shows 'File Complete" but I have just 1 QSO even though the file had 131. Maybe the conversion went whackadoodle?

@N4WSH Hey Ron,

Ok i see the problem after looking at your CSV. There is no callsign data (freq, band, mode, dates, times, etc). So even converting this to an adif its not going to be correct. This is the hunter log from pota, which doesn’t have this information

Well, that stinks. So If I’m a hunter then there is no way to log it with WRL?

@N4WSH Yeah of course you can hunt in WRL. Thats not really the issue though, the issue is that you’re pulling a CSV from the pota site that doesn’t have any data other than the parks that you’ve hunted. There is no QSO data (callsign, freq, band, mode, time/date, etc) its just the park references and states.

When you are hunting and using WRL to log you can use the spotting tab inside your logbook to double click a spot and it loads the data into the logging fields, then once you log the contact it has all the correct data (callsign, freq, band, mode, their park, etc). You can use this in conjunction with cat control as well.

If you are just spinning the dial and find an activator, you can just manually enter their callsign and if they are spotted it will automatically pull in that data as well. If they are not spotted then you can just manually type in their park in the ‘their park’ field.
