Just a thought but in the logbook there is a blank part of the page (circled Red)… It would be absolutely amazing if this part of the page could have band plan information. Maybe a drop-down box so the user can select their license class and maybe another box to select the mode they want (CW, SSB, etc) and then a small table pops up showing the privilege for that particular band and mode. It would be so convenient to have that information. I do have the WRL band plan poster but if I am doing POTA, SOTA or some other portable event I can’t bring a poster with me… Just a thought..

@AJ1NG Hey Jeff,
This is a good idea! The only issue is this space is also determined by the screen size and device of the user, I’ll still add this as a possible mini feature for discussion though!

The three IARU regions have different band plans.

Easy solution… I am sure a drop-down menu could be added so the user can select the country they are from so the appropriate band plans would populate…

Do we really need this additional menu? Your call sign which you declare in the logbook tells already where you are staying:
- your call sign **KF0TQJ** = your QTH is USA = band plan IARU Region 2.
- your call sign **DL/KF0TQJ** \[1\] = your QTH is Germany = band plan IARU Region 1.

1. DL/ is the prefix for the Extra Class. So if your not ‘Extra’, it is just an examble. 😉

@HB9EVT You are missing the point… My suggestion is to have the band plan information somewhere in the software as a convenience, so the information is at your fingertips. Not everyone has a band plan poster on their wall or available for portable events like POTA, BOTA, or SOTA events and having it in the WRL software negates the need to have multiple screens up on your computer at one time that you need to keep flipping back and forth… How it is done is up to the engineers at WRL. They are very smart folks that could find a way to do it so that everyone in different regions would have access to the correct information… It is just a suggestion at this time. I’m not even sure it will happen or if they like the idea. Like I said, those smart guys at WRL can figure it out so it works for everyone.

@AJ1NG As far as execution goes it wouldn’t be difficult to display the correct band plan, we can just pull it based on the users location. I’ve added it as a mini feature for discussion and we’ll chat about it on our next meeting.

Your suggestion was also, to use the empty space below the open logbook (see [your screenshot with your red circle](https://community.worldradioleague.com/t/just-an-idea/34087)). And in this case your location is already known by the call sign you have declared in the logbook (in the upper left corner of [your screenshot](https://community.worldradioleague.com/t/just-an-idea/34087)). I just wanted to point that out.
If the WRL team chooses another solution\[1\], then maybe a location declaration field is needed as you proposed it.

I love making sure when I am operating SSB that I operate in the range that Technicians are allowed to transmit in. Currently I do this by just having the ARRL Band Plan downloaded to my desktop for when I am out doing a POTA activation, but I would LOVE to see this built in to WRL in some capacity!

Doesn’t WRL already know where the operator is operating from. It could automatically populate the band plan based on what IARU region you are in. And possibly even pare that down based on what Band you logging in the log book to reduce the amount of space is taken up.
