Special Event Call Sign Logging and QRZ Upload question

I am the coordinator for a Special Event station (N1E “The Science of Radio”) that will be operating on three upcoming dates this summer 25 July, 22 Aug, and 26 Sept at a local Science Museum. We will have three operating positions running during each date. If I understand things correctly I can setup a unique logbook in my account using the N1E call sign as the station and have each operator enter their call sign as operator. Do I have that correct?

A few questions:

  1. Is there any issue having three operator positions logged in at the same time under a single account?
  2. I want to have a master map display on a fourth PC so the public can see the QSO map live on a large screen as contacts accumulate throughout each day from the three operating positions. Is this possible? And, if so, how does the answer to question 1 affect this?
  3. If I am not able to get N1E correctly listed on QRZ can I disable QRZ uploads in WRL just for the N1E logbook?

@NE1NH Hey Tom,

Yes of course. You are exactly right. You’ll just set the operator to the callsign of the operator making QSO’s and have the station callsign set to the special event callsign.

  1. Nope, no issues at all. I would HIGHLY suggest that each operator is using the desktop app instead of the web app for logging in this situation though.
  2. For this, I would have the laptop/desktop setup and logged into the web app with the logbook that everyone is logging in pulled up and then just either Fullscreen the map tab or pop it out (see screen recording). Each contact that is logged from the other stations will show on this map.
  3. Yes, I would just go into the qrz integrations page and disable the auto export toggle and/or the entire qrz import/export integration, just to be safe (you can leave callsign lookup enabled though).
