Suggestion – Guided Setup / User Flow Automation

Hi WRL Team,

First, I want to say the platform has become very feature-rich, which is great. At the same time, it has lost a lot of its earlier intuitiveness. New and even returning users now face a fairly steep learning curve because many options are buried or not clearly guided.

I would love to see a simple guided user flow / automation when someone opens the logbook or starts a new session. Something like this:

  1. Create a new logbook?
  2. What type of activity? (General, SOTA, POTA, Contest, etc.)
  3. Add CAT / Rig Control?
  4. Auto-upload QSOs to QRZ / LoTW / Club Log?
  5. Send QSL cards via QSL World (or other service)?

Each “Yes” would then walk the user through the corresponding setup screens with short explanations. This would keep the power of the current feature set while making the whole experience much more approachable again.

Ron, great suggestion. As we drag new members into the fold from antiquated 1980s technology I’m sure it can be overwhelming at times.

BTW, I looked at your QRZ page and I like the philosophies you have espoused on the page. I wish I was one of your neighbors because I’d become a real pest in a short period of time, picking your brain. :slightly_smiling_face:
