I started my amateur radio journey in November '24 and currently hold a general class license. I’m a Sr. Software Engineer by trade and like experimenting with all things tech related. Naturally amateur radio peaked my interest. Growing up in the 80’s and early 90’s I had a few handheld Uniden scanners and was always interested in listening to what was going on around me and building (and more accurately, taking apart) electronics and computers. I currently run a FTdx10 in my “shack” with a 9:1 EFHW up about 25-ish feet running 72ft of SOTA beams wire. For portable I’m using a FT991A with a custom built 100ah battery box.
