Is Randy selling any radios or gear currently?
NO, Randy is NOT.
First of all, Randy would like to thank his uncle, W6ZSI for fostering his interest in amateur radio at the age of 9-10 in 1979-ish. Randy did not get his license until 2011 after learning on Ham Nation that he no longer needed to know CW.
Randy has always been interested in electronics. In the 1990’s he became an MECP-certified mobile electronics installer. He installed a lot of stereos, alarms, and some of the first mobile phones in vehicles. He built a competition stereo system in his personal car and earned enough points in competitions to be invited to the IASCA national championships in 1995 in the Sound Quality division.
After some time, Randy realized that his back (and the rest of his body) would not be able to withstand mobile electronic installations forever. He returned to school after moving to Boise, ID and pursued a degree in Radio and Television production with ambitions to become a recording engineer. He worked a part time job as a student on the Boise State OIT Service Desk. This took him in a totally unintended direction toward a career in Information Technology. Randy performed mixed PC and Mac desktop support for about 13 years before becoming a full-fledged Apple Macintosh System Administrator at the University of New Mexico Office of Information Technology in Albuquerque. A job opportunity appeared at the University of Colorado in Boulder where Randy is the Apple Endpoint administrator for the computer labs and teaching spaces for CU. He and his team of students manage over 700 endpoints (geek speak for computers and iPads) spread over 35 classrooms and labs.
Oh, and in case you were wondering Randy has The Knack

Noodle is our COVID-19 Quarantine dog. An F2b Gooden Doodle from TRDoodle Ranch in Bennett, CO. He is helping me string some paracord for guying his 2-meter M2 stacked halos on a Rohn 34’ push-up mast. Noodle is always interested in his Ham radio activities.
As of 09/29/2018, his wife, and the cats, are now living in the Denver area.
As of 1/24/2020, Randy is finally on the air at his new QTH. Randy has a 7-Band Buckmaster OCF @35-40’ pointing almost perfect NE-SW in some trees. Randy is running an Elecraft KX3 for HF driving a HOBBY PCB HardRock500 kit amp. The KX3 is dedicated to Phone/SSB only on HF. Randy also has a Kenwood TS2000 driving a TE Systems 1410G amp putting out ~200 watts into an M2 7 el beam for 2M on his roof with a rotor at 25 feet. The TS2000 also drives a Q5 Systems 432 amp putting out 100 watts into a 719B yagi on 70cm. Soon, he will have a 1296 25-watt transverter and a 25 el loop yagi on 23cm. He also has an IC-7300 connected to a full-size G5RV dedicated to 100% digital modes like FT8, FT4, e
