My name is Joel (Joe-L),

I was licensed in December 2005. My first rig was a Kenwood TS-2000, and I got on 2 meters with a copper-tubing J-pole I put together. When the housing bubble years hit, I sold the TS-2000 to help pay for college and ended up off the air for many years. Years later I jumped back in with a Baofeng HT and had a lot of fun working repeaters around South Florida on and off. These days I’m running a Yaesu FT-710 with a Spooltenna EFHW, mainly operating on the 10-meter Technician privileges. I’ve been enjoying DXing over SSB and FT-8.

My next goals are to earn my General ticket and then finally dive into CW.
