I’m a retired US Navy Chief and I’m also retired from the US Army (Civilian service). I received my Technician license in October 2024; General in May 2025 and I’m going to try and get my Extra by 2026. I’m really enjoying this hobby and at my QTH I primarily use the Yaesu FT-710 connected to a Chameleon EMCOMM-II-V2 EFHW antenna which runs from my second story window to my fence (Stupid HOA). So far, I use my Yaesu FTX-1 Optima for POTA and as my main rig when traveling in my RV. I really like POTA working as both an Activator and a Hunter but mostly Hunter. I also love working FT8/FT4 and will be trying my hand at some Satellite soon, I hope.
