Well i purchased a Yaesu FT-710 Field and LDG Z-11ProII tuner for use as my base and now run the Xiegu G90 for POTA, my UHF/VHF is a 25-Watt quad watch QYT KT-8900D, Mobile in the truck is a QYT KT-7900D, several UHF/VHF handhelds (Baofengs).
I currently utilize two antennas at the QTH.
- antenna is a very long dipole, 150ft. total length 75ft. feet per side, 22feet high used mainly for 3.5MHz.
- doublet antenna about 55ft total length at 22 feet high with a 1:1-1:4 Balun/unun made from insulated solid copper and coax to create a trap for a 3 band doublet but tunable to just about anything i want.
MY POTA antenna is a truck mounted Radioddity HF-008, I simply remove my UHF/VHF antenna and attach the HF-008. my truck has a flatbed so it works great for a ground plane.
I am a Electronic engineer but retired from that so it became my hobby, I will be building more antennas.
I own a local construction company.
My wife and I have a small 10 acre farm (2 dogs, 2 miniature donkeys, several chickens, a large greenhouse and garden).
