My biggest hobby and passion is astrophotography. Living in Belgium, however, means dealing with plenty of clouds and far too few clear nights. That eventually brought me back to the world of ham radio.
I originally obtained my amateur radio license in 1996, but at the time I did not have the time to really become active. Now, almost exactly 30 years later, I was looking for a new challenge and a hobby that combines technology, experimentation, and radio communication. Ham radio turned out to be the perfect fit.
I enjoy learning, experimenting, and discovering what is possible with radio, from digital modes and QRP operation to antenna building and DX chasing. For me, amateur radio is not only about making contacts, but also about understanding the technology behind them.
