Started my ham hobby in 1965, sitting on my Grandpa’s knee in diapers while he ran the MARS CW net. First licensed in 1989 as KB8KTQ. When my Grandpa passed, I applied and recieved his call sign W9DKR.

I am retired military, 30+ years active duty, Deputy Sheriff for 7 years until my knees said no more, and now driving 18-28 wheelers moving heavy equipment for a construction company.

I was absent from the hobby for a number of years but have been back on VHF/UHF for a short time. Still trying to find time to get another dipole up into the trees for HF.
