My ham journey began in 1976. Started out as a Novice using a Heathkit HW-101 cw only transceiver. In one year I move to tech and a few years later to general. Finally got my extra in 2019. My major interests are emergency communications and POTA.
I am a member of the Williamson County TN ARES group. Our served agency is the Williamson county Emergency Management Agency. I am also a life member of the ARRL.
My POTA interests started during covid shutdown. I was only hunting at that time and I think POTA saved my sanity during that period. Three years ago I started activating. That is now my love. I get to set up in a park and suddenly its like a mini DXpedition. I have activated in 9 states and we have visited many beautiful National and state parks. I have made many parks friends on POTA.
Now that I have subscribed to WRL, I am really enjoying it. Its fun to watch the stats and your call volume.
