I have been a Ham since the 1980’s and have kept my original call sign. I was heavily involved in MARS as AAV9AH with the Army and Marines decades before the split and merge occurred. I had a great career in law enforcement and retired in 1997 after graduating law school. I never became an attorney and went into the tech sector where I am planning my 2nd and final retirement in a few years.

I am a licensed pilot and master certified scuba diver which fits in with my love of the outdoors from the land, sea or air. I worked primarily VHF and UHF for many years and then took a 10 year haitus. I think moved to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California just an hour East of the Nevada Border and just a few hours North of Yosemite. I love riding my Spyder RTL and ride a lot with my motorcycle club and completed a 3500 mile trip from Caliornia to Glacier National Park over into Canada and back.

My home QTH consists of an FT-DX10, Retevis VHF/UHF and GMRS radios as well as Wouxon and Anytone DMR Handhelds.
I use a Palomar AT2K Tuner and Swan Mark II Amplifier connected to an Alpha Delta switch which is connected to a 1/2 wave OCFHW di-pole 80-10m at 65 feet along with a 27 foot Vertical for 40-6m.
My mobile radios are a Yaesu FT-991A, FT-891, VR-7600 and Icom IC-7100 utilizing a ATAS120A while mobile and a home brew 17ft vertical POTA Challenger Plus antenna and 25’ POTA Dominator Plus antenna. I have a tilt over mast mount with a 33’ mast which holds the BuddiHex Hexbeam antenna for 20m-6m. I also carry a end fed 63’ sloper, along with a OCF dipole. I run a Starlink satellite on my Jeep Rubicon at all times.

I love being outdoors and activating parks in POTA and enjoy QSO’s when possible to meet other ham radio operators.
If you hunt POTA, put me in your Ham Alert and let’s get a QSO!

73’s.
