My name is Jeff Ingwersen. I live in Washington, IA. I am a new Ham. I just passed my Technician & General tests together on March 8, 2025 and now hold a General Class Ticket. I am a Package Designer and I work for a company that produces the white beaded foam (commonly called styrofoam) I use 3D modeling software (Solidworks) to design packaging… If you have ever bought a TV and when you opened the box it had those foam endcaps - Yeah that’s me, that’s what I design… Haha

I am using a YAESU FT-891 with just a 74-foot Endfed antenna hanging between a couple of trees in the back yard. I hope to upgrade to something better this year…

My hobbies are Ham radio and HO scale model trains. I have a CNC Laser and a CNC router so I make all of my own props and buildings for my train layout… I also make a wide variety of other items that I sell in local farmer’s markets and craft shows from time-to-time.
