My name is Gregg Thacker N5LYS. I was licensed as a Tech + in May of 1998. I am currently active again as I am retired and have a lot of time on my hands.

   I am active on the VHF/UHF bands, especially All-Star ( 446.07500 MHz., node #489470). I also can be found on 444.17500 repeater (PL 100.0 Hz TZ/RX). I am in the process of getting to where I can operate on the HF Bands and getting a GOOD portable HF disguised antenna that I can use outside of my apartment since I am restricted in that area.

   I also am studying for my General  Class ticket and eventually  hope to  achieve my  Amateur Extra  Class License.

   I inherited my  love of Radio Communications from my Father (Advance class W5TFP-Silent Key). I held an FCC 3rd Class ticket as I was studying Radio Communications in Jr. College as a "Disc Jockey" broadcasting with a radio station that was piped in through the basement of the Jr. College back in the day.8
