My interest in radio has taken a few turns over the years. Back in college, I interned at WMUB (NPR) in Oxford, Ohio, and hosted/produced shows with WMSR, the student-run station at Miami University. In early 2025 I picked up a GMRS license and a pair of handhelds for family travel and outdoor activities, drawn to the higher power and reliability compared to basic FRS. That practical use quickly sparked curiosity about what else was possible. I studied for both Technician and General licenses together and passed them on Memorial Day weekend 2025. By the end of June 2025—just in time for Field Day—I had my vanity call sign and earned my Extra. I’m grateful to the experienced hams who shared advice, gear, and plenty of encouragement as I enter the hobby.
Outside of radio, I enjoy tinkering with 3D printing, smart home gear, and microcomputers, along with woodworking, disc golf, and camping.
Still new. Still figuring it out. Glad to be here! If you made it this far, drop a web contact. I’d love to hear from you.
