Hi, I’m Steve - K0WZX. I live between the Arboretum and Bluhawk in OP.
Although I could connect with repeaters and listen on both 2m and 70cm, My transmissions were not being received, so…over the weekend, I suspended a Tram 1480 antenna (The Home Depot $70) under my roof in the attic space and problem solved! See Community forum Attic Antenna Ideas for photos of the quick project.
Also, I want to recommend the Santa Fe Trail Amateur Radio Club (sftarc.org) to everyone. They meet on Saturday mornings at Perkins in Gardner, KS, and are a great group of people, willing to share and genuinely interested in making new contacts and friendships.
