I am currently a new ham using a Baofeng BF-K6 handheld radio with an Abbree 42.5” flexible antenna. Is it worth upgrading my setup?

@KF8GDM The answer to your question depends mainly on what bands you’d like to make use of. If your interest lies within UHF and VHF, and you’re equipped with an antenna as long as Abbree’s, then you’re good to go!

That’s a good size ant for 2m. Other than trying some Digital stuff maybe you can try to use a base station antenna. I made a vert dipole for my baofeng HT. I put it up on my garage. Helps with range. With an HT on 2m, being able to hit local repeaters is good enough unless you are trying to experiment with APRS. Try 10m if you can put the cash together to get a 10m radio.
