I’ve been using a 20m EFHW in sloper since getting on HF and have had a blast. I only setup outside, portable and generally QRP (i.e. no permanent antenna at my house or inside shack). I’ve been wondering if it’d be worth it (duh, of course but hear me out) to build a simple center fed dipole and run it inverted V.
I love how quick, simple and lightweight my EFHW is, so would any desirable differences or benefits of the dipole justify basically twice the work of deployment? In reading, it seems like Im just gaining some “better” omnidirection, maybe more close contacts, and…what else? Would I get more or less the same by going inverted V on my EFHW rather than sloper?
I have so, so much to learn. Thanks for any advice and insight!
