How does one ease into SDR?

Being a programmer, the idea of SDR intrigues me. That being said, I’m a new HAM and don’t really know much about much anyway (hey - I’m humble!). I was looking just in passing for some intro guides - but the things I find are either WAY to advanced, very niche, or seem to think I know tons about what’s out there from my many years at regular radio and am just getting into this “new thing.” I’m looking for something that’s more very top level - that’s like - demonstrating here are some cool things you can do, get this specific gear, and if you want to know more after we’ve shown you these things, here’s the terms and things you need to research into.

Anyone have any suggestions for this area?

one doesnt technically ease into SDR … ya just jump in feet first.
my preferred SDR setup
RPI 4 (raspberry pi 4) with 8 GB RAM and 64 GB microsd card
RTL-SDR V4 ( also have a couple V3s)

I currently have 4 SDR dongles running on 4 pis … so I dont have to keep switching as often

I was an early adopter of Raspberry Pi SBC’s so I have been tinkering with them for years

I also have a ton of other SBCs ( Orange Pi, RockChip boards, ASUS Tinkerboard) I also do a bunch of stuff with ESP32 and ESP8266 microcontrollers also,
