QSL Card Generator

A neat feature would be to have a way to generate an electronic QSL card that can be emailed to a contact.

My idea is that people can either select a template or upload their own with spaces designated where form data would get filled in. A QSO could be selected and “Generate QSL Card” option would be selected and the appropriate information (other callsign/band/frequency/mode/time/report/etc.) would be auto populated into the form areas and then a PNG or JPEG could be saved off with this text data added to the template for later sending via email or printing out for a physical card.

Heck maybe there could be an option to export it with mailing info as well (like for printing on the reverse side if doing a physical QSL card) based on address registered for the callsign.

Finally, if both parties are on WRL, maybe the process of sending the filled out electronic QSL card could also be made simpler and sent to the other user directly within WRL or to their email address.

I just thought it would be cool to integrate the art and fun of making and sending QSL cards into the logging platform since all the necessary data to fill out the card is already right there.

Thanks and 73,

@W9PEM this is an AWESOME idea!! We will be adding this feedback to the roadmap and we’ll keep you posted! We’ll have to get through a few of the critical things like CAT control first

This is a fantastic idea. I like physical QSL cards, so I like the way you brought both digital and physical together there.

I would love to see something like this implemented. I am a fairly new general and struggling with putting together a card. Thanks for all you have done. I love the app and site. 73 KJ5GVQ

It is a miracle, because a few days ago I also was thinking about this way to send out electronic cards. Any existing softwares are sophisticated for using (probably, for me only). Not all of them have enough data of call signs.
So, yes! This is a great idea, and all of confirmation eQSL/QSO could be collectable in QRZ, WRL, N1MM or in others.
Let say: best wishes in your implementation this idea!

@KD9WIF @KJ5GVQ @W4SBX @W9PEM If you’re looking for a digital QSL card, you can use the “Download Image” button on any single contact to download digital QSL cards like this:

You can also share a link to this card as well. All the details are in this video guide.

We have recently (since the recording of the feature highlight) added the ability to download an image of a single contact, such as the one I posted here. This should contain all the info you need for a basic digital QSL card!

That’s cool I didn’t know or think about that. Thanks

I’ve tried this and I do like the concept but it doesn’t give a single report. Am I missing something? Is there a filter that I need to undo? Thanks for what you do.

@KJ5GVQ Thank you so much for pointing this out! I’ll see if we can get signal reports added right away!

I as well would love to see some sort of graphical “eqsl” option. I found that option that you posted and the way it looks to me is more of a modern day equivalent of LOTW’s qso confirmation box.
It would be amazing to be able to upload images for digital qsl cards that allows a user to self-express and customize which can be downloaded after a confirmation.

Also:
I think it’s time for all the known amateur radio sites and organizations as ARRL, LOTW, WRL, N1MM and others to agree on a common a Logger format that would not have to be turned into some kind of format for participation in a radio sport contents.
