Visiting Europe.. how do you log contacts?

Hi,
Newbie here…lots to learn about WRL.
I will be going to Europe next week. How do I log contacts I make there?
Do I just create a new log book with my European call sign?
Thanks,
Paolo

Hi Paolo @K1PAP

Welcome in the WRL community chat.

In order for us to answer your question correctly, I need to ask you a few more questions:

  • On your Europe trip, in how many countries do you want to be “on air”?

  • And do you have a single location (per country) where you want to be “on air”? Or are you planning to have multiple radio locations per country?

Safe travels! Post on here when you are up and running with frequency so maybe some of us can get a contact with ya. Be safe

Hi Pepe,

I will be using the radio in Croatia only, and already checked with authorities there that I would need to identify as 9A/K1PAP

Does this help?

Hi Paolo @K1PAP

Yesterday I had during IARU HF World Championship a contact with the Croatian headquarter station 9A0HQ on 40m.

As you are (only) in one country on air
the answer is clear:

Yes, the simplest way is to open a new logbook
with your Croatian guest call sign 9A/K1PAP.
(When opening a new logbook in WRL you can declare which callsign you are using)
