What would it take for Washington get Plates that are actually identifying that you are a Ham. I have seen you can get Amateur plates with your call, but they are just look like the normal plates. Is there interest from others in Washington to have some “Cool” Plates?

the issue right now in WA is the lack of license plates being made, I held off applying for my HAM plate for that reason. No idea what it would take to get a custom back ground / short plate number like they do fo the seahawks

I checked with the DOL and they have no time line when they will have custom plates available. They are even behind on the new license tags being issued. So best thing is to wait until they can start up with production.
