BETA Testers Needed

Is the best way to beta test to simply use the dev link for all of my logging?

@NO4D Hey Ken,

No, I would HIGHLY suggest not using the dev environment to replace the production environment for logging. Its where we put new features, upgrades/changes, etc for testing before pushing live. Sure you can use it for logging contacts and use it as you usually would to test functionality but I would not use it as the primary over the production environment.

As an example we have the new logbook template creator on there now. You can access that via creating a new logbook and clicking ā€˜view templates’ at the bottom of the ā€˜Default template for new logbook’ dropdown. (we will make this more accessible before pushing to production). This functionality will allow you to customize your logbook template by adding/removing fields, changing the order of those fields, adding custom fields, changing the themes, etc. Eventually in phase 2 we are thinking of creating a way to share logbook templates as well as have users vote on them to provide more engagement.

Soon we will be launching the map customization functionality to dev as well that will allow you to customize the map views as well as SEVERAL other new features we’re working on.

When I get some time in the next week or so I’ll try and create a post that lists current new functionality on the dev environment as well as a place to try and keep track of reports we’ve received of things that are not working as expected and what has been fixed from that list. Obviously we have this list internally but I’d like to provide some of that information to the beta testers group so they are aware of what has been reported and what has been fixed to help prevent multiple tickets that get sent in.

I hope this helps.

This is good news. Such a list will save time for us beta testers and save your time. :+1:

Thanks! I kinda thought that. I have imported my log into so I have something to work with. Looking forward to next steps.

It seems that WRL is not getting the section and class from WSJTX on Field Day log.

@NO4D I’ve reached out to the team to take a look. I’ll reply after they’ve had a chance to dig into it.

@NO4D Hey Ken!

We’ve ran a script to look at WSJTX streamed contacts, extract their exchange information and update it and made a change to store the exchanges for new contacts as well so you should now see correct exchanges and scores.

Sorry about that!! Let me know if you have any more trouble.

Scoring doesn’t look right either…

@NO4D Hey Ken

ok so the total points are correct i think but we just need to re-trigger your score calculation for each contact which will fix where its showing 0 for the points for each qso. no worries, Its fine to keep logging and we’ll make sure to fix this shortly.

I would like to help if I can, but I don’t think that I have the skillset, and sufficient free time to do so, is there a list of of things to do.

@AA1SL I added you to the group a few weeks ago i think. You should be able to access the https://community.worldradioleague.com/g/Beta_Testers/messages/inbox link.
