D-STAR (Digital Smart Technology for Amateur Radio)

What is D-STAR?
The word D-STAR is Digital Smart Technology for Amateur Radio.
It is an open protocol for digital communications established by JARL (Japan Amateur Radio League).
We use D-STAR on almost all amateur radio bands for Digital Voice (DV) and Digital Data (DD). We use our D-STAR transceivers to send and receive text messages, photos via RF (simplex and repeaters) and/or internet (computer / hotspot).
Some DV simplex frequencies in the U.S. are 145.670 (2 M) and 446.225 (70 cm ). To find D-STAR HF QSO, visit http://hf.dstar-relay.net.
Can WRL add D-STAR among the modes in the LOGBOOK?

  • If you need a cool, open stand-alone D-STAR DPLUS reflector to extend the range of communications for your radio or even your repeater, you can use REF093. Anything about D-STAR you want to share with us? Please let us know.

Anytime!! We’ve got another big update coming this week. Won’t have D-Star in there this time, but it’s on the roadmap. We’ve got so much to build haha!

Thanks for the feedback and keep 'em coming John. We appreciate you taking the time to give feedback, it means a lot!
