Not I; his QRZ logbook is empty, too.
Is he an SK? If not, you may ask to see (or if so, find) his paper logs and track a few of his QSOs down that way.

I don’t know, all I know is he passed about 2 or 3 years ago he might have operated for around 50 years

AC3I is on the right track. Find his old logs and then start comparing those contacts to QRZ to see who might still be active. But even if you find some, I’m not sure what your intentions are? To talk to them to see if they remember your ancestor? If so, that would be highly unlikely unless he was active in Nets where people get to know each other over time. But good luck with your efforts.
