Greetings radio geeks. Up and coming GMRS’r here, looking forward to testing into the “club” this quarter.
I have been into radio hobbies ever since getting one of those electronic project toy boards for Christmas when I was 11. Registered GMRS back in 2001 for canoe trips and let it lapse when I (and most all those friends) got married and quit going to the river every year. Re-upped on GMRS 2025.
I’d have my ticket by now if it weren’t for the seemingly constant stream of continuing education and professional (architect) certification tests I am required to stay current on through the year. Knowing my limits, I have set the HAM goal in that schedule! All these letters behind my name seem sort of worthless anyway, as retirement approaches.
Time to have some fun in the aether! Shout out to my HAM friends that talk to us GMRS’ers on Crowder’s Mountain, Cherry Mountian, and Fletcher repeaters here in WNC. Oakridge and TN Valley, I hear ya and will have a YAGI pointed your way when the leaves fall. Will talk back atcha then.
