Help with High SWR issues please

Also. I have a 1:1 LDG choke right off the 9:1 before my coax to the shack. I would recommend this to prevent your antenna from using your coax as the counterpoise. This will prevent RF from getting into the shack and will allow you to adjust the counterpoise for your desired results.

Get a vna or other antenna analyser you need to get the antenna tuned first before hooking to radio. Try to get below 2:1 before using radio to finish tuning.

@kd6thz Was in similar boat when got licensed and had SWR. I had to have an Elmer come over and explain stuff to me to make sense. I personally need to learn more about antennas and once I get done renting and own a home that is #1 on priority in world of HAM. Watch some youtube on antenna SWR will help Best of luck

@JON125 I bought a VNA and still need to use it and learn it

Check Ham Radio on a Budget videos on YouTube he has a good simple video on how to setup a vna

Thanks @JON125

The VNASaver app on windows/Mac/linux helps use it much more simply.
