I am a new ham and I have loved talking on a local repeater that is about 4.5 miles from my house, today I noticed that I always have to be on the second floor of my house to be able to hear it well with a standard rubber duck as my antenna. Does anyone have any ideas on what better antenna I can get?
Hey @KJ5GZR! I really like the Signal Stick from https://signalstuff.com/. You can also use a piece of coax with an SMA connector and build or buy an outdoor antenna.
Haven’t looked at this post in a while! It still works great all the time, and I appreciate the suggestion. I hope to catch you on HF sometime when the bands are alive!
