Low priority - QSO maps for DX entities dashboard

I’m liking the new DX Dashboard but here’s something I’d like to see added in the long run.

I would like the ability to put multiple countries in the search box. Country - Comma - Country - Comma - Country - etc, just like we now do in the log with call signs for multiple operators.

When I select a country and see my QSOs for that country, I would like to be able to create a QSO Map so I’m requesting a QSO Map button at the end of the row. I would like it to generate a separate map just as if I had used the QSO Map option at the top of the page to see my map for that day or that month or whatever.

Even lower on the priority list would be to throw in a map of whatever country I’m looking at. See example below. This would need to be a map of just that particular country, so if you implemented my multiple country request above, this map would not be created because those countries might be all over the Earth.

My long term ask is that I would like to create specific maps that show QSOs to specific countries or regions (regions would be another option - Asia, South America, Europe, Africa, etc).

Thank you for your consideration of this.

@W7YBY Hey Brian,

I’ve added this as a feature request. Great stuff here.

Hey @W7YBY thanks for the feedback, and thanks for being overall one of our best most active users and supporters. These are some great ideas.

One thing I want to mention is that on the QSO Map itself, you do have ability to filter by Country etc. - all the same filters are available to create a map for any QSOs you want.

We will add more filters and enhancements to this as well!!

Thanks James, I wasn’t aware of this. It does a good job of isolating one country at a time, so I’m assuming multiple countries will be forthcoming so for example I could look at Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia contacts in one map.

I noticed one glitch. When I searched for my Russia contact I wouldn’t get anything whether I chose Asiatic Russia or European Russia, but if I just build a QSO map from ALL of my contacts the map will show the Russia contact.

@W7YBY Yes we will be adding the ability to select multiple countries in a future upgrade.

As far as the Russia contact goes its most likely a data issue more than anything. What is the callsign of the contact?

I’m not finding that callsign logged in your account

@K4AZE

Yeah, that’s really strange. I’m not seeing it in my QRZ or LoTW logbooks either yet it shows in my WRL log, but if I search for it in QSO Manager it doesn’t find it.

QRZ doesn’t have a current listing for it, but I sent the guy a QSL card the following day and I received an eQSL confirmation from him.

I’m baffled.

@W7YBY Ok so this was just listed as ‘Russia’ instead of “European Russia”. Once I updated that it shows up in the search in the qso manager. I did find the QRZ page as well RZ1OA - Callsign Lookup by QRZ Ham Radio

Looks like its all showing as expected now though

Thanks. I can be such a dumb$#!t at times. I was putting it in as R Z 1 zero A.
