For some reason, the study is not sinking into the brain the way I would like .so I could do better then a 58 .
You’ve got this! Have you tried the mobile app yet? It helps a lot!
no phone text to small
Just make sure to go through all the lessons one by one! You CAN do this!
Hi James, I have written down the lessons I don’t have a 100 on and redoing those, Thanks 73s
Hello James,
After taking the Technician class, they asked if i wanted to test for General right then.
I did, and it looked like a foreign language!
I got more wrong than right!
Back to the drawing board…
I used the Ham Radio Prep app on my phone, and took the sample tests a LOT.
Each time I went through, I went back (The Review tab) and wrote down what I got wrong, then went to “the big book”, the ARRL license manual, and read up on what I got wrong.
I did this again and again over a few weeks, until I was testing in the high 90’s every time.
Went to take the test, and got em all right.
I’m not advertising for the app, but this approach worked for me.
Now testing for Extra in a few weeks…

Thanks Bob! We also recently added new features to the mobile app where it tracks your missed questions automatically! Thanks for sharing this approach in case it helps other people too.
You can do it! A little bit a day and before you know it you’ll be making 100%
That was pretty much my experience taking this new technician test . Compared to the 1998 tech test I took and passed. This new one did not need a 5 word per minute test to pass to become a tech,(tech Plus) a lot has changed over the Years.
If I can do this, you can do this no problem. You got it! just work a little at a time. I ran through the practice test until I was missing2 or less constantly. then I moved to the next section and repeated the process all over for each section the did the final practice test about 20 times. I would space out each test and for every wrong answer I would go over the explanation. Just takes time. Give yourself some slack
passed general April 12 2024. Thanks All
Congrats, @KF0MEW! That’s fantastic!
[Ham Radio Prep course. Spend the money then: Listen, read along the subtitles, then go read the text. Take the tests at the end of each chapter. Then when finished keep taking practice and random exams. It will be come so repetitious you cannot miss.
