Update Email Address [FIXED]

Submitting this under Bug Reports because I believe this feature was already implemented but I am not finding it anywhere.

In a recent WRL update email dated 4/4/2025, there was a mention of adding a section that allows you to change your email via your profile page:

As of right now when I go to my profile and click on the ‘Edit Profile’ button, I do not see a space to change my email address.

I’ve tried on both mobile, and web, and I do not see the option to change my email on either of the two.

@W2DIY Hey Daniel,

Go to your browser, open the site. Hold down shift and click the refresh button on your browser. This will clear the cache for the site and load the updated version :wink: Hope this helps! Let me know if your still not seeing it.

@K4AZE I gave this a shot with holding down shift and refreshing my browser, but I still do not see the space to update my email.

I went ahead and manually cleared out my site cache, data, and all other related cookies stored from the site and I am still not seeing the option to change my email.

Additionally, I cleared the cache on the Android app on my phone which originally was not showing the option either, and clearing my cache on my phone seemed to fix the problem on the mobile app for me, but I am still encountering the issue on the web app. I even took an extra step to give it a try from Chrome on my phone, while in Desktop mode to no avail.

@W2DIY Hey Daniel,

That’s extremely unusual. I’ve attached a screenshot of what you should see. I’ll reach out to the team and we’ll dig into this since there isn’t any reason why you shouldn’t be seeing the email field. Sorry for the inconvenience

@W2DIY Hey Daniel,

So after looking into this a little deeper, it looks the reason you aren’t seeing the ‘Email’ field there is because you created the account using ‘Login with google’. We can convert this over to a regular email/pass type of account i’ll just need to know which email you want to use.

Just wanted to point this out. Now that my account has been converted to a traditional account, I still do not see the email box to change my email (If I were to need to do that again in the future). I am only seeing the options that were listed in my original screenshot.

@W2DIY Hey Daniel. Try going to your profile page and holding shift and clicking the refresh button on the browser and see if that makes any difference now that the account has been converted. If not, i’ll reach out to the team and get them to look into it.

@K4AZE Shift + Clicking Refresh does not seem to make the box to change my email appear on browser.

Just the technical side of things if it helps the team at all, I am on a MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.3.2 on the Chrome browser.

Another thing I will also point out is that I am now seeing the option to change my email through the mobile app, which was not there previously when I first started this thread.

I’m pretty sure we’ve pushed the change for this and you should see the field now (we had a few other changes go out and im almost 100% sure this was included in that). When you get a free minute if you can check and let me know.

@K4AZE I think I am super unlucky, or the greatest bug tester ever, because I STILL am not seeing the box to change my email! I went ahead and tested on the Chrome app on my phone to see if maybe my laptop was the issue, and it does not appear on there either.

@W2DIY Thats kind of crazy because based off of this thread we created a whole new feature :wink: hah we created the ability for users that create an account via ‘login with google’ that the user can convert the account to a email/password account themselves. I’ll reach back out to the team and see if they can see anything in the logs as to why the field isn’t showing up for you.
