Hello, I live in area that is about 750Ft above sea level. My question is how far off the back of my house would be a good place to mount my antenna. Right I have a Diamond x50 about 14" out from the side of the house. It’s up about 35 Ft. I am not allowed to have it above the peak of my home. The best signal report I get is an S5 from a repeater about 11 miles away. Can moving the antenna improve my signal. I am using a FTM 200 for a base for now with 50ft of RG8U low low loss coax.

It would be advisable to elevate the antenna above the house, but if you can’t, I don’t think it will make a difference if you move the antenna. Although if you have some free time you can test moving the antenna and see if it improves the repeater signal
