One of the things I like to do while in a QSO with someone I’ve talked to before, is to have the ability to “Look back” at what we’ve discussed in the past to refresh my memory.— The issue I have now is ----when I go back to look while using my computer or my app on the tablet, I lose my QSO in progress.
We’ve implemented the ability to see previous contacts with users. I’ve created a quick screen recording to show the functionality. Let me know if you have any questions!
Great add with the view button!
Started using it yesterday to see when and on what bands were the previous QSO’S.
Only suggestion is on dark mode can we get better contrasting on the sent and received signal reports.
Brad, Thank you. You guys are really on top of things. ---- There is no way you are not going to end up with an awesome product. The way you follow up is first class.
The issue is, when I go back to see the notes I’ve taken on a previous qso and then click to go back, I lose the callsign in the current qso I’m in. ---- I think if you had an edit button next to the view button, it would allow me to view the notes I’ve taken before, and then when I was done viewing the notes I’ve taken, I could simply close that edit box and resume my qso without losing anything in my current qso notes.
Man, I hope this makes sense.---- If you get this worked out, I can start using WRL as my primary log. I think this is the only thing holding me back that I can think of.
First thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to all of us! We are defiantly trying to build something special here and hearing words of encouragement like yours help us push through some long hours and make the dedication well worth it!
If I’m understanding you correctly your referring to how I did it in the video but mentioning the fact that its clearing out the data you’ve already entered when you go back. is that correct? If so I’ll bring it to the team and see if we can make the data persist if the user has clicked the view button (to view the previous qso data). I think we could just load that ‘view’ in a pop up modal instead of a whole other page which would allow us to keep what the user has already started adding instead of clearing it out.
I hope what I’m saying makes sense too hahah Just shoot me a reply when you get a free minute and confirm and I’ll reach out to the team.
Hey Brad! Yes.------- Here’s an example.----- I’m now using Ham Radio Deluxe and just this morning I was in a QSO with a fellow I’d talked to a few months back.— It was nice for me to click on a previous QSO we had where he was telling me about a grandfather clock project he was working on in his wood shop.---- We sort of picked up where we’d left off on his project a few months back.------- I like taking notes on people for that reason.
Yes, I think if there was a box that would pop up with the details like on the edit pop up. That pop up box is nice because it can just be closed out and return me to my current QSO with the RST, Call sign, Mode, notes, etc.
That’s one thing that is very important to me.
Just a couple more comments: The rig control is working great on my K4D. Oh, how nice it is to hunt POTA with that rig control. I just click on a call sign and there they are…Brad, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.— I was never much of a Pota hunter, but with that convenience, who can resist. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel! Who ever came up with that idea to track the Pota site gets 5 golden chickens.
I think you guys are doing something that is relevant to the way hams operate in todays times. That’s because your brains are young and not caught up in old ways of thinking.
Another thought is: I hope you guys don’t get burned out doing an App for the Windows and Apple platform. That sounds like a daunting task to say the least, plus it sounds like it would be a real pain to keep that updated with all of these requests that are coming your way.
Don’t get yourselves burned out.— Hope to see you at Hamvention this year. I saw you last year, but I had no idea how into this you guys were.
Glad the cat control is working well for you! Nah we actually enjoy working and building something thousands of people are using! What’s that old saying? “Find something you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life” That’s kind of where we all are at! We love the hobby and want to provide a solid product for people to use and enjoy! I’ll reach out to the team and see if we can make this change or at least prevent the qso data from being erased when looking up previous comments! Let us know if you run across anything else! We welcome the feedback!
