How to show previous QSOs with a contact

In a prior YouTube Livestream I had asked for the ability to see whether or not I have had a prior QSO with a contact. Andy told me that it already existed, and sure enough, when I tryed it out it worked fine.

But then today I realized why I had asked the question to begin with. I break my logs up by month, and I had a contact with CE7VP in Chile today and I was sure that I had talked with him before but it was showing as only my first contact. Afterwards I opened the QSO Manager and did a search and sure enough I had worked him at the end of October.

So now my feature request is to have WRL query the entire QSO Manager log to see if that contact has been worked previously. Is that possible or would it be too much of a database query and slow everything down?

@W7YBY Hey Brian,

No It wouldn’t slow anything down I wouldn’t think. I’ll talk to the team and see if maybe we can show the previous contact and which logbook its in (i’ve recently started breaking my logbooks up by month as well). The only issue i see with this is that there could potentially be a character length issue. For example if someone’s logbook is named ‘Supercalafragilisticsuperalidoucious’ that should pose an issue maybe haha :wink:

I’ll still talk to the team and see what we can do.

A post was split to a new topic: All Contacts Map

Hey guys, this feature already exists! :slight_smile:

After you type in a call sign, it shows you how many times you have contacted them, and you can click it to see the details:

@N0WRL Yes but it only works if the contact is in the same logbook. We are talking about adding this ability even if the contact isn’t in the same logbook.

It works across all logbooks, not just for the same logbook. It searches your full contact database

@W7YBY James is right, i just double checked and tested it. I pulled a contact i’ve only worked once before in my ‘November 2025’ logbook and then i opened one of my older logbooks and typed in the call sign and it shows ‘1 QSOs’.

Maybe it was delayed when you entered the callsign?

Yeah if it isn’t working correctly, it is a bug and we can fix it for you!

Brad / James,

I just tested for him again and it did show 2 QSOs so yes, perhaps it was delayed because I specifically looked to see if this was the same Chile contact I previously had worked and it wasn’t showing anything for a prior contact. I’ll keep an eye on it as I work a lot of the same POTA activators and will let you know if I see it happen again. Thanks.

@W7YBY Hey Brain, Great! Let us know if for some reason it doesn’t show properly again and we’ll dig into it and see if we can speed up/get rid of, the delay.
