Amazon tablet app [IN DISCUSSION]

Will the WRL app ever be available for Amazon fire tablets?

@N4KAA That’s actually a good question! FireOS is based on android so in theory it should work. What kind of app store does it use? Does it have the ability to install android apps that are in the apk format?

It uses the Amazon App Store which seems to be a knock of the android based play store. Searching for world radio league brings nothing up tho.

i’ll reach out to the team and see if there is anyway we can get it added or maybe provide an apk for you to install manually.

@N4KAA I talked to the team during our meeting this morning and I think we are going to add an APK package download link somewhere on the site for users that need this ability, like in your case it not being in the FireOS store. I’ll update here once we’ve pushed that out. This will allow you to install WRL on your device via the APK.

Thanks & 73!

Hello,

Is the APK for Android available somewhere as a direct link on this site as mentioned above might happen? I have a phone I’d like to install WRL on but it’s not set up with Google etc.

Yessir no prob. let me know if you have any issues with it

That APK installed great and ran on the isolated phone, but immediately said a critical update is needed and wanted to connect to Google.

@KC1UUH ohh ok i see. Let me see if i can get the release version packaged and i’ll shoot you a link. let me reach out to the team. Go ahead and uninstall and delete that one.

@KC1UUH This should be the latest version - https://apkpure.com/world-radio-league/com.worldradioleague.app

Dying for this! Thanks!! Will try today. Appreciate your efforts on this, I know it’s probably a real pain.

@KC1UUH nah no trouble at all. Just trying to nail everyone down took the longest lol

Hi Brad, I tried with the direct link and via apkpure on the phone, both seemed to fail.

Here’s what happens when installing from apkpure:

Install looks ok here…

Then when you click Open:

Any ideas?

@N0APX any thoughts on this? @KC1UUH needs just the APK of the latest mobile release that doesn’t require him to login to google or the play store to install/use.
