I get a lot of pileups when I go out to the park, and usually I just write partials down on a notepad and get back to them in the order I heard them. But this feature would let me type in anything I heard, separated with a “//” and then work them that way. It would be a HUGE quality of life addition to an already great platform!
Hi Brad. Definitely need something for stacking and first typed stays at the top and we can work down the list. I too get lots of pile ups for POTA working 150+ each activation. This really should be available not just for POTA as when working DX or contests and having a good band opening I had pileups on 10m and 17m a while back and I don’t use any pen/paper in the field. Hope this definitely makes it on the list! Thanks for the great development and constant evolution of this software! 73’s
Hi Brad, I can’t recall if this was now available and if so, does it work in the APP only or will it work on the website logging as well. Yesterday we had 2 and 3 operator parks calling us so it was a bit of a challenge.
It would be great to be able to list the parks and the calls by comma’s and then have it parse all three calls into 3 separate contacts with all the same information if that makes sense.
Fortunate we had all experienced folks calling us so they all repeated their 3 parks so we could enter each one individually.
You’ll see my log yesterday. We almost hit 500! But 46 P2P’s we had tons of dual operator parks.
Yes it should work on both mobile and web. I just confirmed on both.
You can enter multiple callsigns separated by a comma (ie: N0WRL, K4AZE, N0APX) then enter the freq, etc etc and then just add the parks (currently you’ll have to enter them one after the other clicking it form the drop down, but this will be updated to be able to be entered by comma as well). Then the ‘TheirPark’ field will show ‘Multiple Parks’. once you log the contact it will create a QSO record for each callsign and add all the parks to each QSO record.
So this doesn’t seem to be the feature that PoLo has for stacking, though. This just throws everything you typed into the log. The PoLo feature allows you to put partial calls and whatnot in and you work on them in the order that you put them in one at a time.
What’s the current status on this? I hate to say this, but I used the PoLo app for my last park activation and it was sooooo much nicer with the pileups I get and it was just overall faster. With the current ipad P2P bug (which I filed a report for) and still getting mandatory updates locking out usage, using WRL is painful to use for POTA for me now.
But this isn’t what the original request was for. The OG request was for working partial callsigns in order they were received one by one in the way PoLo does it. The feature you released is for adding multiple callsigns at one time, which is a completely different thing.
I’m referring to hearing a pileup and putting in partial callsigns, separated by whatever separator, and being able to work them one at a time, and each time one is worked, then the next callsign comes up to log.
Example, I type in the following into the callsign field:
AI4//AZE//N0APX//WV1
And it would allow me to work each call one by one at a time, giving me the chance to complete the partials.
I was excited when you released this saying it was added, but when I entered that example (but with commas instead of slashes), it just added 4 contacts into my log with the callsigns of AI4, AZE, N0APX, and WV1 to my log…which is not what was expected.
That’s a shame. This is the one feature that would be such a quality of life improvement for being at the parks or working contests. It’s hard to use WRL after using that feature in PoLo.
Between that and the P2P bug, I’ve had to switch to PoLo and it makes me feel dirty.
@AI4ZD i shoulda started the day we released the streaks, idk what i was thinking lol lol. im happy at 4 …. for now at least. Its my founding member number too so theres that hahahah
