Checking duplicates during import [ANSWERED]

Afternoon,

I uploaded a POTA log this afternoon that supposedly contains:
The download file contains 592 QSOs.
The results on my Log Page shows only 167 QSOs.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

@W4WCS Hey Bill,

It looks like 425 of the 592 QSO’s were duplicates, meaning you already have the 425 in your account in a different logbook. You can view the information in the screenshot below by going to the notifications button next to your profile image and then clicking
‘view import’ under the ‘import complete’ notification.

Also, the logbook labeled “POTA LOG 07 06 2025” isn’t setup with the POTA activity so you wouldn’t be able to export this and upload it to the POTA site. I would delete that logbook with the 167 contacts then then manually create a new logbook, and then under ‘Add Activities’ select ‘POTA’ and select/input the park number and then set your location either via a ‘saved location’ or a ‘custom location’ using like a gridsquare and save that logbook.

Then you could re-import your log into this newly created logbook and it will be setup properly for pota (meaning it will have the MY_SIG, SIG, etc fields set properly.

I hope this helps.

Brad,

Thank you for the quick reply. Well I didn’t realize that it took all QSOs into account. Very interesting. Makes sense.

I know that some of my POTA QSOs are in my QRZ Log also. Would the same rule apply.

Thanks again.

Hey Bill,

I’m not entirely sure of QRZ’s logic on duplicates but I would think so.
