DX Cluster

On the DX Cluster you can select modes including digital voice. Is that “Digital Voice” or is it “digital, voice”? Where does FT8 fit in? Confused! Thanks.

@GM0GMN Hey Jim,

Here is a link to the ADIF standard. Released ADIF Version 3.1.6, updated 2025-09-15

There are numerous digital modes such as olivia, vara, contestia, rtty, ft2, ft4, ft8, etc etc. Those are outside of what you would normally call “digital voice” modes such as dstar, c4fm, dmr, freedv, m17, etc.

To answer your question though, yes on the spotting tab inside your logbook you can filter by mode and select a single or multiple modes to filter by, as well as filter by band, country, and spotting source.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Brad - it’s just the modes are confusing… it also has SSB, USB, LSB when SSB would do. Thanks for getting back to me.

Jim.

@GM0GMN Well yes you are correct however some users want to specify which exact mode it is, for example 40m LSB, 20m USB, etc.

Thanks Brad.

I am switching over to you from HRD and I guess what I am saying is that we need to be clear with our entries. So logging SSB would automatically show LSB for 40mtrs because no one uses USB on 40mtrs. The spots don’t seem to show data modes like FT8 or 4 but they do make a big thing of digital voice which actually has quite a small following.

I know it is early days but if we don’t talk about this then it won’t get sorted.

Thanks for all you do.

Regards,

Jim.
