[feature request] a tablet/mobile partner app/toolkit/hud for quick reference no touch use

Develop a single-screen, high-contrast utility application designed for amateur radio operators for use during outdoor field operations (such as POTA/SOTA activations).

  • Target Platforms: Android and iOS (Phone and Tablet).

  • Orientation: Force strict landscape (horizontal) orientation globally.

  • Layout Constraint: All information, data metrics, and UI controls must fit entirely on a single screen layout. No scrolling permitted.

Theme & Styling (Default Signature Look)

  • Background: Deep cosmic blacks, rich dark blues, and grays. Integrate a subtle, static decorative backdrop featuring a scattering of stars and clean cosmic accent lines.

  • UI Containers: Semi-transparent dark gray panels with distinct, high-contrast borders to separate data modules.

  • Highlights & Typography: Use vibrant, neon-style accent colors (such as bright neon greens and high-vis whites). Fonts must be bold, sans-serif, and highly legible to ensure clear visibility in direct sunlight or for visually impaired users.

UI Module Layout & Features

Divide the screen into a grid system containing the following discrete widgets:

1. Header & Identity Panel (Top Left)

  • Callsign Display: Prominently display the user’s FCC amateur radio callsign in a large, bold, high-visibility font (e.g., KJ5NOV).

  • Grid Square: A dedicated data field displaying the current 6-character Maidenhead locator (e.g., EM12tg), automatically updated via device GPS.

  • ITU Zone: A smaller text field showing the local ITU Zone based on the GPS coordinates.

2. Environment & Propagation Panel (Center)

  • Band Conditions Indicator: A vertical or horizontal stack showing real-time HF/VHF propagation status for major amateur bands (80M, 40M, 20M, 15M, 10M, 6M).

  • Visual Representation: Each band should display a color-coded status bar (Red/P for Poor, Yellow/F for Fair, Green/G for Good).

3. Timekeeping Panel (Top Right)

  • UTC Clock: A large, prominent digital clock displaying Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in HH:MM:SS format.

  • Date Display: Display the current UTC date in standard YYYY-MM-DD notation directly beneath the clock.

  • Update Frequency: Ensure a strict 1-second refresh rate for accuracy.

4. High-Precision Navigation Panel (Right Side)

  • Dynamic Compass Rose: A prominent, working circular compass dial that rotates smoothly using the device’s hardware gyroscope and digital magnetometer.

  • GPS Status Indicator: A satellite icon indicating hardware GPS lock status (Active/Searching).

  • Digital Telemetry: Below the compass, output live numeric text for the current heading in degrees, showing both Magnetic North (MAG) and True North (TRUE) calculations (e.g., 345° NW (MAG) / 348° NW (TRUE)).

5. System Controls (Bottom Row / Left Alignment)

  • Bright Mode Toggle: A persistent, easily clickable button with a status indicator light. When toggled, it switches the UI to a maximum-contrast light theme for intense glare environments.

  • Fullscreen Toggle: A dedicated button that hides system status bars and navigation panels to maximize screen real estate and prevent accidental touches.

possibly add optional widgets for notes.. and tie the hud to wrl to update the latest qsos
