You have already integrated POTA (Parks), IOTA (Islands), SOTA (Summits), WWFF (Flora & Fauna). Thanks a lot!
And new requests for activation-and-hunting-programs are pending:
And more will follow. Sooner or later someone will ask for integration for the other BOTA (Beaches), COTA/WCA (Castles), LHOTA (Light Houses), MOTA (Mines), etc.
I understand every user who wants to have their loved OTA program integrated. And they have my full sympathy.
Therefore, I recommend not to integrate each OTA program individually, but rather developing a general concept for all minor OTA programs, so that every WRL user can activate and hunt for whatever they like.
Because basically, it’s always the same thing:
Short name for the program: BOTA, COTA, DOTA, …
Number of the location that I activate
Number of the location that I hunted (if both fields are filled in, then it is location-to-location-contact)
And somewhere in the general section I have to declare once:
Short and long name of the OTA program
An Icon for this OTA program
Which fields do I have to add to the header of the ADIF file, when exporting a logbook for this OTA program.
Name of the ADIF field for “Number of location that I activate”.
Name of the ADIF field for “Number of location that I hunted”.
Absolutely agree, however it may serve well to have to register and WRL moderate somehow the program short and long names of OTA programs (just to guard against ‘tongue in cheek’ OTAs such as ‘kitchen on the air’ and ‘porta loo on the air’ ).
This would help with keeping filtering under control as well.
Ships on the air, SOTA?
Dang it, that’s already taken.
Boats on the air, BOTA?
Dang it, that’s already taken.
Pontoons on the air, POTA?

Water-craft on the air, WOTA??
