POTA Hunter are consulting the POTA spots. So if you do a POTA self-spot, the hunters know your call sign, your frequency and your park number. So they will find you, even when you are calling CQ FD"
FD participants will probably not contact a station calling “CQ POTA”. Why? Because they are afraid, that a “normal” POTA station does not also know the correct FD exchange (e.g. “1B NT”).
So I assume it is best to call CQ Fieldday and also self-spotting on POTA app.
But why not integrate a short POTA information in your CQ FD call:
“CQ field day CQ field day from KD9ZNA doing POTA”
(Just name “FD” more often than “POTA”, so the other FD stations understand, that you really are a FD station.)
This is easy. Use the original field day logbook. And if you have a Park-to-park use the field “Notes”. After the field day you can move the park-to-park information in the correct P2P field.
I like this. A lot of parks are activated during Field Day. I would focus on the FD log as the primary and come back to the POTA log. Everyone gets a 59 for Field Day (grin).
