Here in Canada, we can run SSB, which I could change, but it defaulted to CW. It’s funny how this is the default setting since most of the world can run SSB below 21200.
Hey @VE9CF I’m not so familiar with this part of the band - do you think we should change the default here to SSB for everyone? Thanks for the input!
I know in the US, Non US amateur can’t operate SSB below 21.200, but the rest of the world can. If you have a selection for Canada or another country, that could be setting according to their band plan. Also, this could interface with everything, I can’t speak for all hams outside the US, but many I run with, don’t really want to see a bunch of US stuff, we want to see our progress in our own country.
BTW, the same is true for 14.150 and below. Canadians can operate SSB from I think 14.112 to 14.150
40m is the same, we can operate SSB below 7.125 where US hams even with Extra can not.
Yeah, I totally agree, and we also have an international focus
There are a few features that started as US focus just out of necessity, but as our product develops, it will be less US-centric and more global.
Having the frequency ↔ mode mapping based on different band plans is a great idea. I don’t think we will be able to do this in the short-term, because we have a few major features we need to finish first (like the desktop app, enhanced DX cluster and DX dashboard/analytics).
But, this is something we can definitely do when time permits.
