Hello from the Tennessee Mutual Aid Group

Hello! We’ve been around for a bit now, but admittedly we’ve been a little quiet lately. We are the Tennessee Mutual Aid Group, a volunteer-driven organization focused on emergency communications, coordination, and community support during disasters, events, and training exercises across the Volunteer State.

The Tennessee Mutual Aid Group was formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, after seeing the impact it had on East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. A group of friends—made up of active and former first responders—wanted to do more and make a meaningful difference. That experience opened our eyes to the real need for organized, reliable support, and from there, the Tennessee Mutual Aid Group began to take shape.

We’re proud partners of WRL, and we love using it for logging during our POTA activations. The setup is fast and straightforward—within a matter of seconds we can create a POTA log and be on the air, allowing us to focus on making contacts rather than managing software.

We’re also proud to share that we placed 1st Place with WRL during Summer Field Day 2025, a testament to our teamwork, preparation, and dedication to amateur radio.

We’re excited to start sharing more of what we do—stay tuned.

@W4TMA Welcome (again :wink: ).

This is GREAT to hear! We are constantly working on new features, upgrades, fixes and innovating in this space. Its amazing to see users being able to use WRL in more serious forms of amateur radio! If there is anything we can do to help or support your efforts please don’t hesitate to ask!

Thanks & 73

We absolutely enjoy using WRL — even if James caught us off guard with an interview at the Huntsville Hamfest!

We are continually impressed by how innovative the program is and how frequently new features and improvements are released. It’s clear that a great deal of thought and effort goes into its development.

Most of all, we truly appreciate developers who actively listen to their end users and implement changes that make the platform more efficient and user-friendly. That level of engagement and responsiveness makes a meaningful difference to organizations like ours.

We are also looking forward to seeing WRL at the Huntsville Hamfest again this year and hope to spend some time at the booth connecting with the team in person again!
