Historic QSOs

Hi! I’m curious if WRL can be used also for logging historic QSOs (from, in my case, the 1980s)? It would be nice to be able to show them in the same map as for new QSOs. And if so, would this work with QRZ intergration? 73 de Sven SM5PMF

@SM5PMF You can always log previous QSO’s and just update the date of the QSO. In theory yes they should export to QRZ just like any other QSO.

Thank you for the reply. However, before I started entering historic QSOs in WRL, I realized that a complication could be that I in the past used other callsigns while I was in the USA. And now those callsigns don’t belong to me any longer. Not sure if I want those to be synced with QRZ.

yeah that makes sense

I started entering historical QSOs for my main callsign SM5PMF in WRL. So far, I only have one logbook in WRL, which I call the main logbook. On the Integrations page in WRL, I have enabled Auto Export. However, the historical QSOs have apparently not been exported to QRZ. Could that be because those QSOs are over 30 years old and thus not considered “new”? For me, it is not necessary that the historical QSOs are exported to QRZ, because it is in WRL where I would like to see them. I would actually prefer if the historical QSOs for now invalid callsigns were only in WRL and not exported to QRZ, to avoid complications there.

If there is no age limit for a QSO to be exported/imported to/from QRZ, would it be possible to set up so only my main logbook in WRL is linked to QRZ (but not other logbooks that I may create for now invalid callsigns)?

I also ran into an unexpected behaviour of WRL: When I started entering QSOs in the Android app, I had not fully set up my location there. When I now view contact details for those QSOs in the app, it (below the QSO date and time) shows my callsign, my name and that I was on Market Reef. But I was not on Market Reef. It seems that the default country / DXCC entity is not determined the right way and I don’t know how to change that for those QSOs. After I in the app set my location, my country is shown as Sweden as it should, for subsequent QSOs entered.

@SM5PMF You can use the QSO Manager (in the web app, which is what i would use to add historical QSO’s. The mobile apps are mainly meant for use while operating portable for activities like pota, sota, wwff, etc) to select which qso’s you want to export to QRZ.

Additionally you can use the QSO manager to select the qso’s that have the wrong location information and update them via the ‘bulk edit details’ button.

Here is a screen recording on how to do this:
