How/can you add a spot before QSO?

Hey, I’m new to the app, and I want to understand if you can add a spot for yourself before communicating. Of you could just ask of the frequency is in use, and send your spot like “Hey, I’m here” and then update when you make contacts?

Yes, there are ‘spot me’, ‘spot them’, ‘pota autospot’ buttons below the log contact button on the web app.

@KM7EZN yes you definitely can! Here is some more info on how it works with some operation tips.

  1. Find a frequency that isn’t in use (check your band plan if needed)
  2. Check that it isn’t in use by transmitting your callsign and saying “Is this frequency in use?”
  3. Then you can start calling “CQ, CQ, this is…”

At that point when you are calling CQ on the frequency is the best time to spot yourself. You can click “Spot Me” and add the details.
